Hello and welcome! I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications from USC and a Master's degree in Education from Pepperdine University. I have a Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development Emphasis. I have more than 20 years experience in Education. I always found it helpful in my learning to think and teach as a teacher. So yes, when I was little(r) I learned best by pretending I was the teacher with imaginary students. I would not only think about delivering content, but also how to apply it when possible, and what its meansit meant to me. I later learned that I was slowly trying to model the "Bloom's Taxonomy Model." In the beginning, I started as an Instructional assistant at the elementary level. When asked why I would be good for this job, I told that same story. A lot of heads nodded and so I knew I was where I was supposed to be. I taught various grades and learned the ins and outs of effective teaching and classroom management skills. I realized that the management and tone of my classroom set the stage for willingness and a desire to learn.
I am a member of several professional educational consultant organizations across the country. Each year, I attend a variety of webinars and conferences to better help my clients with the admission process.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy hiking with my two dogs, Fido and Cleo. My favorite weekend activity is enjoying the outdoors with my spouse and two kids.
I offer a complimentary one-hour service to go over the application process with the student and their family. After this initial consultation, I follow up with the family to recommend an appropriate service for their needs.
I am available on an hourly basis to give families advice about finding the right college, writing applications, standardized testing, and more.
I offer a complete service that includes evaluating the student's academic record, establishing reachable goals, advising the student throughout the application process, and advocating for the student.
I understand that each student's situation and needs are unique to them. Tell me more about what you're looking for, and I will get back to you soon with some ideas.
